How Does a Martingale Collar Work?
Unlike a traditional collar, a martingale features two loops. The larger loop sits around your dog's neck, while the smaller loop connects to the lead.
When your dog pulls or tries to back out of their collar, the smaller loop tightens, gently reducing the size of the larger loop to help prevent escape.
When fitted correctly, the collar sits comfortably loose when there's no tension on the lead.
Martingale collars are particularly popular for dogs with narrow heads, such as Greyhounds, Whippets and Italian Greyhounds, but can be suitable for many breeds.
