Unfortunately, on a yearly basis, many dogs will die or suffer injuries due to strangulation when their collar gets caught whilst their owner is out.
The American Pet Products Association (APPA) found that up to 26,000 strangulation cases occur in the US each year.
About this collar:
When pressure is applied, the smaller buckle on this collar will release, making the collar fall off and stop any risk of strangulation.
You can use the collar for walking in a pinch (make sure the lead is over BOTH D-rings), however we still strongly recommend using a normal collar, martingale collar or harness for walking.
